The San Diego Parks Foundation had an existing Squarespace website, but the site lacked the premium, organized, and professional feel needed for a major nonprofit organization. Content was scattered, navigation was unclear, and key initiatives weren’t being highlighted effectively. This made it harder for donors, volunteers, and community partners to quickly understand the Foundation’s mission or take meaningful action.
They also needed a website that could grow with them, one capable of supporting fundraising, event promotion, ongoing projects, and expanding public programs. However, their current platform was limiting, and the structure no longer aligned with their long-term digital goals.
The challenge was to upgrade their entire digital presence, improve the user experience, and prepare the organization for a full rebuild from Squarespace to WordPress. This is a current project.
We refreshed and elevated the San Diego Parks Foundation’s existing website, introducing a more premium visual style, improved page layouts, clearer navigation, and updated messaging. These updates immediately improved the site’s readability and trustworthiness, making it easier for visitors to explore programs, learn about initiatives, and support the organization.
At the same time, we are working on a major ongoing project: rebuilding the entire website on WordPress. This migration will give the Foundation far more flexibility, better long-term scalability, and a stronger platform for donations, content management, and future growth. The new design system emphasizes clarity, accessibility, and professionalism, aligning with the brand’s community-driven mission.
